Switchboard Operator 
In the late 1800's, every time you made a phone call, you had to call the switchboard operator. These operators had big switches and they would connect people with whomever they were calling.
Pinsetter 
Before there was a machine to reset the pins after every bowl, it was done by young pinsetters! They had to run over and reset them by hand.
Elevator operator 
When elevators were first invented, they were not as easy to use as they are today!In the early 1900's, there were special elevator operators who would stand in elevators and make the elevators move properly.Today, it is as simple as pushing a button!
Lamplighter 
someone whose job was to light lamps in the streets in the past. Another lamplighter duty was to carry a ladder and renew the candles, oil, or gas mantles.

День 3-4

Опрацювавши вказані інтернет джерела, дійшли до висновку, що таких слів дуже багато,тому вирішили дослідити слова-назви професій, які не вживаються у сучасній англійській мові.

День 1-2

Ми учні 10(6) класу Новопільського НВК на уроках англійської мови вивчали тему: "Освіта в Україні". Підтему: "Вивчення іноземних мов". На останніх уроках присвячених вивченню теми отримали завдання, визначити чи існують у англійській мові слова, які більше практично не вживаються.
